About the event
Availability:
We have 24 spaces and we aim to have an equal number of boys and girls on this workshop. We are issuing separate tickets to ensure that the same number of boys and girls have the chance to participate.
Description:
In this course, students age 8-12 will learn the basics of programming. In groups of three to four children, they first construct a LEGO Mindstorms robot. Then, on a laptop, they learn how to use a graphical programming language to control the robot's motors and react to the sensors in order to solve various tasks. This sounds more complicated than it is and is usually mastered quickly by the children. No special prior knowledge or preparation is necessary. The course will be led by Google employees who do this voluntarily alongside their jobs. The LEGO Mindstorms boxes and laptops are provided for the duration of the training and the course is free of charge.
Important: The students must organize their own travel to and from the course as well as their own snacks.
